In 2025 — a Universal Year 9 and also my Personal Year 9 — I felt a deep inner call for transformation. Ruled by Mars, the number 9 carries energies of endings, release, and spiritual initiation. Mars, being the ruler of sharp objects, individuality, and transformation (especially through its co-rulership of Aries and Scorpio), aligns perfectly with the symbolism of a tattoo — a sacred and permanent mark of change.
This year, I made the decision to get a new tattoo. Tattoos, for me, are never superficial — they symbolize a personal shift, a rite of passage. Around this time, I was in frequent contact with a dear follower of mine, someone with whom I share a deep connection through our mutual love for the occult and spiritual wisdom. Our conversations naturally gravitated toward Goddess Kali and Goddess Matangi, both of whom I was feeling intensely drawn to.
One day, he mentioned the inverted triangle — a symbol I had seen repeatedly in the iconography of these goddesses but hadn’t consciously reflected on until then. The moment he spoke of it, something clicked. I realized this triangle was not just symbolic — it was a mirror of the transformation I was going through. I had a strong inner knowing that change was coming, and I wanted to honor it.
Without planning it, the only available appointment for my tattoo ended up falling on February 27th, 2025 — a New Moon. This wasn’t just any New Moon; it was in my 9th house, in Purva Bhadrapada Nakshatra, exactly where my natal Rahu sits. The synchronicity gave me chills — the 9th house is about higher truths, philosophy, and spiritual growth, and Rahu there can indicate destiny-altering awakenings.
In the weeks following the tattoo, I began noticing subtle yet profound shifts in my mindset. I naturally began to drift away from friendships that no longer aligned with my life’s direction, values, and inner frequency. I stopped caring about external validation — something quite unusual for me as a Leo Sun, someone who thrives on self-expression and being seen. I let go of the need to explain myself or correct the stories others told about me.
I also lost interest in drinking, smoking, or frequenting places with lower vibrations. These habits simply fell away. What surprised me most was a newfound desire to become celibate — not from fear, but from a place of clarity. I realized that many of the men I had previously attracted were narcissistic or lacked integrity. This painful recognition awakened me to the need to protect my energy and preserve it for higher purposes.
In many ways, I feel I’ve started embodying the very essence of the Bharani Nakshatra — whose symbol, the inverted triangle, represents the womb, restraint, and the power to both create and destroy. It’s the sacred discipline of feminine power — and I feel that power rising within me.
the inverted triangle — such a powerful and layered symbol, especially in the context of Bharani Nakshatra in Vedic astrology. Let’s dive into its meaning step by step and unpack its spiritual, psychological, and cosmic layers.
Inverted Triangle Symbolism of Bharani Nakshatra
Bharani Nakshatra spans from 13°20' to 26°40' in Aries and is ruled by Venus (Shukra). Its primary symbol is an inverted triangle (🔻) or sometimes shown as a yoni (female reproductive organ). These two are deeply connected.
🌸 Feminine Creative Power (Shakti)
The inverted triangle universally symbolizes the feminine principle. It points downward, towards the earth, womb, and creation.
In Bharani's context, it represents the Yoni, the womb of creation, the gateway of birth and death.
This aligns beautifully with Bharani’s Shakti — the “Yoni Shakti,” or the power to bear and remove (creation and dissolution).

🔥 Association with Lord Yama (God of Death)
Bharani is presided over by Yama, the deity of death and dharma.
The inverted triangle thus also symbolizes death as a doorway — not an end, but a passage to a new cycle.
The symbol becomes a portal between worlds: life and death, body and soul, material and spiritual.
This is why Bharani people often have experiences that bring them close to deep truths — either through loss, rebirth, intense relationships, or transformations.
💫 Alchemy of the Soul
Venus as the planetary ruler brings in the aesthetic, sensual, and material domain — love, beauty, pleasure.
But combined with Yama, Bharani’s symbol teaches the discipline of desire, the responsibility of creation, and the balance between indulgence and restraint.
The inverted triangle can represent the descent of spirit into matter, and eventually, its ascent back to spirit through wisdom.
It’s a kind of sacred geometry of transformation.

🧬 In a Personal Natal Chart
If you or someone has Moon, Ascendant, or other planets in Bharani, the inverted triangle indicates:
A life mission involving transformation, whether through emotional maturity, death-rebirth experiences, or even literal caregiving or creative work (birthing something into the world).
A strong pull toward karmic balance, soul evolution, and learning through intensity.
Potential for deep sensuality, artistic talent, and emotional strength, especially if channeled consciously.
